Paper mill reorganized by investments
In 1843 Herisem Factory received a permission to install second water wheel to increase a drive force. They were planning to buy new machines for material cutting and sorting. Brand new equipment proved to be old and not competitive to others companies. Concurrence paper mills were using already steam machines for paper production.

Belgium economic crises between 1847 - 1848 pushed Winderickx family to invest in farm. In 1849 they decided to construct the big barn to store harvests. All those agricultural products were sold out when the prices were profitable.
In the paper mill there is old grey mill to see. It was installed during the investments period, when the second wheel was bought.
